Getting redirected in the search engines? The likely cause is a nasty virus which is commonly known as the "Google Redirect Virus". This has been installing itself onto countless systems throughout the World, and is continually working to try and cause as many problems as possible for its victims. The way this virus works is actually a lot different than most infections, making it very difficult to remove as a result. What Is The Redirect Virus?

This virus specifically works by "injecting" its own links into redirects that your computer has to deal with on the Internet. Each time you browse the web, 100's of sites will take you through redirected pages, either because the page has moved, it wants to show an ad, or the site just has this feature built in somewhere. Although most people see this virus when they search on the likes of Google, it's actually affecting all websites that you will use - it's just that the major search engines all use redirects to monitor their metrics.

How to Remove This Virus From Your PC

The way to get rid of the redirect virus is actually very easy if you have the correct tools. Because it's just changed some Windows settings, you have to be able to get rid of the infection by using the software that's going to be able to identify & fix the various files it's infected. We've found the best way to do this is to use a program called "ComboFix" - a leading antivirus program that works by looking at a "script" and then examining the various files that you instruct it to.

It's recommended that you may also want to look at using a program called "FixRedirectVirus" - which is a leading piece of software that's been designed to get rid of the redirect virus in its entirety.
